DANGER--CODEX (NOT An Urban Myth)--And it's Coming For You!

I've written about the Codex before, here, on dKos and today I am cross-posting it again here. Folks, keep ignoring this and vitamins will disappear as well as alternative health care. This is for real--I have been told Snopes discounts it as a legend--Snopes is wrong and I prove it in my dKos piece with testimony from a German who has seen this happen in her country. THIS IS happening. And most odd--the folks who have taken this seriously come from winger blogs like Red State--where is our liberal outrage? Hello?

Dr. Rapp is a leading allergy expert specializing in juvenile asthma. The following introduction to her letter and her letter itself says it best:

CODEX update: Urgent (scary) message from Dr. Doris Rapp

This letter from Dr. Rapp was addressed nationally to all practitioners. Read it and weep. Then pick up the phone and call your congresspeople. Dr. Rapp is right. Everyone concerned has to get on the ball for this one.

Dr. Rapp wrote: "Dear Colleague, I plead with you to read the E-mails you have been receiving about the Codex Alimentarius. Your patients and your practice can be totally eliminated if this ruling is implemented. If you act now by contacting healthfreedomUSA.org. we may be able to block it in this country but this can never do it without your help.

"What is wrong with the World Health Organization (WHO) Codex Alimentarius Ruling? Along with 164 other countries, the USA under President Clinton signed A World Healthy Trade agreement or treaty. It states the following: All nutrients will be under the control of the pharmaceutical companies. Let me share with you exactly what this means.

* · Only synthetic food supplements or nutrients will be allowed even though natural ones are superior.
* · The doses of nutrients allowed will be below the levels most would consider to be effective, such as 200 mg per day of Vitamin C.
* · Certain amino acids, essential fatty acids, alpha lipoic acid, natural enzymes, DHEA, CoQ10, MSM, beta carotene etc. will not be allowed. As many as 75% of natural substances currently available in health food stores and pharmacies will no longer be available.
* · Decisions about homeopathics have not been determined but these too appear to be in jeopardy.
* · Herbals will be markedly limited in number and possible use as they are considered untested drugs.
* · All nutrients will be by prescription only so patients must pay for an office call to receive a nutrient.
* · Prices are to be fixed or "harmonized" with those of prescription drugs. This means a $10.00 package of zinc tablets will then cost as much as $130, as has already happened in France and Norway where the Codex ruling has already taken effect.

If that is not enough, the Codex ruling also states:

* · Non-genetically- engineered foods cannot be labeled so you will not be able to have a choice. (Read Chapter 9 in my new book Our Toxic World, A Wake Up Call). A recent unconfirmed Russian study with rats showed that when pregnant rats were fed genetically engineered soy, about 50 or 70 newborn mice were dead by 3 weeks of age. Do we not desperately need studies on humans?

* · Animals grown for human food can be given antibiotics, hormones and growth stimulants, as well as pesticides or genetically-engineered foods. These hormones can affect the sexuality of children and adults. The antibiotics might influence the benefit you might receive from them at some future time if they were needed. Pesticides can and do cause cancer, birth defects, diabetes, thyroid disease, sexual effects and learning problems. (Read Chapters 1,4,5,6,9,and 10 in Our Toxic World , A Wake Up Call.)

* · All sold processed food can or will be irradiated. (Read Chapter 9 in Our Toxic World, A Wake Up Call).

In the countries where these rulings have already been implemented, the public is astounded and are now trying to reverse what was done. Let us stop it by acting now and writing the politicians in the US congress and put a stop to these frightening rules that further diminish our freedom of choice.
