Action Point: Cranky Takes Flight!!

Need I preface the launch of my own radio show with any more fanfare than this?
Action Point: "Two days after I finished the content format for Action Point's launch on Air America affiliate KPHX (1480) Phoenix, I discovered David Sirota's new book, "Hostile Takeover: How Big Money & Corruption Conquered Our Government--and How We Take It Back."

OPEN THREAD: Monday 05-15-2006

Oh, I've been too long gone again. You folks are gonna think I don't love you anymore, but I do.

I've been working on that new project I told you I'd be announcing "soon" and yes, we are within a day or two of that announecment so sit tight and talk amongst yourselves...

Here's your topic: Joe Scarborough is really pissed about NSA phone tapping. Conservatives--is he off his rocker or right on point? Liberals--are you enjoying listening to him rant about it as much as I am (or don't you give a damn what Joe thinks)?

INCOMING: The Web We Love is Endangered

AlterNet: The Web We Love is Endangered: "If the big corporations win their push to charge internet users different rates for the same product, the Web as we know it will wither on the vine."

Nixon's Revenge: Everybody Loves a Spy!

The constant drumbeat that "9/11 Changed Everything" (read: be afraid all the time) has mostly changed Americans' willingness to live with a Sandanista-style invasion of their privacy:
Potential Evidence Surfaces of Bush's Illegal Spying: "Thomas Nelson has been practicing administrative law for most of his professional life, but after September 11th he first began offering pro bono work for immigrants detained in broad FBI terrorism sweeps. He is currently leading a little-discussed case that may contain the first documented evidence of an illegal wiretap, and believes that as a result, he himself has been subjected to warrantless -- and therefore illegal -- wiretaps and physical searches, the kind of clandestine operation that Nixon referred to as 'black bag jobs.' And as a result of extreme carelessness by the FBI, Nelson may have his hands on the only solid evidence of these searches."

QUESTION: Immigration?

Let's try something new. Let's talk about talking about immigration (yeah, I meant that sentence).

Why do you think discussing immigration and coming to results-oriented solutions seems so challenging?

OUTGOING: Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition

Politics is not a spectator sport. If you're in the game, play like you mean it!! This video from thumping the tub is a great serve:
